Plain Sailing Right Up to Christmas
18th Dec 2015
The recent adverse weather has caused a bit of a stir in Blackwatertown, the P7 pupils have decided upon a proactive approach and are taking action by building boats. This element of STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) is a very important aspect of the world around subject. Our topic of “water” was launched earlier this year and the pupils have enjoyed learning about different areas that water covers. More recently they had the opportunity to construct a simple paddle boat from general house hold waste and elastic bands. This boat had to tick two boxes; it floated and moved through the power of an elastic band. Have a look at our maiden voyage.
