End of Year for P4

24th Jun 2020

Boys and Girls in P4,

It is hard to believe that we have come the the end of our year together in P4!  As I scrolled through the many  photographs and videos taken of our first two terms together in school it is really quite unbelievable how much we got packed in.

I know this year has been an unusual one, to say the least, and for AJ, in particular, it has been an extremely difficult one. We have shared and created many happy and some sad memories together.  I feel these times together really helped us to bond and and come together in a way we will never forget.

I watched you all grow and support each other through the difficult times and I have to say I feel very privileged to have been your P4 teacher.  The smiley faces of each and everyone of you, the kindness you all showed towards each other and myself, the fun we had dressing up for Halloween, singing and practising for the Christmas Play, (My best memory is you all doing 'The Camel Dance!' ), preparing and making your First Confession and beginning the journey towards First Holy Communion, when it was all sadly cut short, with no time to prepare or say goodbye.

But in usual St Jarlath's form, the children of P4 rose up and and accepted the challenges of 'home-schooling', using new skills to learn on Seesaw, Sumdog, the school website and the many booklets!  You provided me with lovely photos, messages and EMOJIs to keep me smiling through 'lockdown.'

It is with joy and sadness that I want to thank each of you for being the best pupils ever, and for creating the many happy memories that I take away from this class.  (You will see some of these in the video.)

I  wish you and your families a very happy summer and I can't wait to see you all grown up when we return to school in the autumn term.

Thank you Boys and Girls of P4 2019/20
